Havana Club Barrel Proof
Sitting at the Rome airport. Just picked up a bottle of this instead of the HC7. 45% proof. €38 euro for 1 liter (is that a good price?)
What can I expect? Not sure if this is the right forum but figured if any one knows about this rum they would be here. Description: "This rum is patiently aged in extra-old white oak barrels, to shape its amber hue and incredible smoothness. The final blend is then set to rest in specially selected 'finish' casks that give it its character and complexity. Its blended and aged under the supervision of Maestro Jose P Navarro Campa" |

Saw it yesterday at a local liquor store at EUR 54.00 per 0.7 litre for the first time ever. Don't know about the rum, but the price seems to be decent.

It´s very good, more complex than HC 7 (my favourite cigar rum) and maybe a little more hot, but not much. I find that the flaours gets more clear if you splash a little water (approx. 1/4) in the Barrel proof.

Nice Rum. Quite smooth. The slightly elevated alcohol level actually accentuates the sweetness. Personally, I prefer it as it pours.
