Whet RH% did your hygro tell you it was at?
Keeping sticks at 70% can be tricky to keep mold away.

If it's just light mold on the wrapper, it ain't a big feckin' deal.

And yes, Cubans do seem to be more prone to mold that nons...

When I have something that gets dragged into a problem, yes, I put it into a box o things I plan to smoke in the near future. Obviously they aren't right for my storage arrangements, and it's not worth putting them back just to have it happen again.

Many, many (many!) moons ago I bought a box of those small machine made ERdM's (NC), took the cello off all of them, then reboxed them.

Some months later I opened the box to find a solid cake of mold. The cigars were barely visible. Of course I immediately threw the molded box in the garbage. An inspection of the rest of that cooler showed no sign of mold anywhere else.

Other than that experience I've never really had a problem with mold.
