Western Caliber III from BH - No salt test ?

My new Western Caliber III arrived today from BH. Out of the box I'm a bit concerned about accuracy. At room temp. Caliber III reads 78F when my thermostat and my Csonka Enviro. Data Sensor read the correct 70F. Csonka reads 67rh and Caliber III reads 55rh. I then put both into my humidor and let set for an hour. Then Csonka reads 70f, 69rh and Caliber III reads 73f, 61rh. Based on this, it seems the Caliber is reading rh too low and temp too high. I will confirm temp tomorrow with a mercury thermometer, but I want to salt test both to confirm rh. But the instructions that came with the Caliber III clearly say "DO NOT attempt to perform the salt test" if I want to maintain the warranty. Anyone have any suggestions?

BTW, the published info on the Western Caliber III says:
"Measures 15% - 95% RH with an accuracy of +/- 1%. Measures 40 - 92 degrees Fahrenheit with an accuracy of 1.8 degrees. Updating time of 10 seconds prevents gauge flutter."

TIA
