they're very good about replacements, just wish they still used Solingen steel

It has been years and I'm still annoyed they did that. I've switched to Palio and the chinese xikar sits in a drawer.

Ive been using them for years... I cant feel any difference from the old ones to the new ones... seem just the same to me as far as the cut.

I had two of them and after I got a Palio I gave the Xikars to my kids.

OK, but the point is that they'll replace expensive Solingen steel with cheap Chinese steel. Maybe there's no difference in the cut, but there's something that feels wrong about that "bargain."

That said, I have one of the originals (with the Solingen blades), and I've never had a problem with it. Of course, I've used it very rarely since I bought a Palio, but I'm sure it will work fine if I need an emergency backup.

Maybe so.. I still love my Xikar though.. never had any problems with them. Plus they still have the best gurantee in the biz..
