A Cabinet Humidor inside a Fridge??

The fridge is the one with freezer on top...so the refridgerator part of it is wide enough to fit my cabinet...was just thinking of this as i was getting the some stuff out of it for the kids. Now woudnt a cabinet humidor fit in there during the summer in houston?
Well, no harm in trying it, so i called to have a one yr old fridge delivered to my house, $150.00 total. Let see what temp the warmest setting of the fridge will be, or i will have to spend $75 more to get a thermostat. The Subzero in the kitchen has a digital temp. regulator +/-1 degree...cant use it if i still want to live at home. My wife thinks I am nuts for trying this. There will be a significant humidity delta considering the fridge interior will be very dry, so i hope the humidor doesnt warp.
If it doesnt work we just got a 5th fridge for the house!

Personally, I would skip the cabinet and just place boxed cigars in the fridge.

I think the boxes will be safe in the RH of 65% inside the humider than 25% inside the fridge alone. The fridge needs only to maintain 65*f consistantly, humidity is not an issue as cigars will be in the humidor.

You can maintain proper humidity in fridge using beads and what not. It's cheaper than buying a cabinet.

I have a cabinet already, and about 6 desktop humis. Also have a new Cigar Oasis XL extend from Bob Steibell. Currently experimenting with the fridge thermostat to see if it can go to 65*f. Just want to put it all in the fridge!

I sure hope you are not considering puttting an Aristocrat cabinet in a fridge. You should definitely call Bob Staebell and see whether he would recommend that.

Naw, its not Bob's humidor. Its an Antietam(sp?) from Bargain humidors. Its a decent looking humidor but honestly i just want a nice, stable cool place for my cigars out of sight. The humidity swings in my fridge will not be a problem when the compressor kicks in as the cigars will be inside the humidor.
It is either put it in the fridge or get a large cooled cabinet, the fridge is by far the less costly alternative.

I like this idea Shikar. I considered getting a cheap fridge from one of the appliance places around here. I figured it would be great for keeping the cigars cool, but would have serious problems with humidity. By keeping the cigars inside the humis you may have solved that problem! Now I think I'm going to go fridge shopping...
