I know, call me crazy. That I am! I have been pondering the problem with starting to accumulate large amounts of cigars and having nowhere to safely store them in a suitable temperature enviroment. So I started looking at some of Bob's DeltaT cabs and just can't seem to come up with that king of cash right now. I started looking into the wine coolers. Too much risk and trouble! Next, I started looking into the Igloo Thermoelectric coolers. Way too small for the money. So, being the engineer that I am, I have just purchased a 150qt Igloo and have ordered a custom made thermoelectric chiller, very small in size(5" X 7"), that has a proportional controller that will control to 6egF, Plus\- 1DegF. Even has an adjustment for Plus\- 5DegF! Very neat package and should work perfectly being that it only has to cool to about a 10Deg DeltaT. It will not dry out the cigars or remove the humidity and I should have no problems with condensation, if my calcs are correct! The real test will come in June or July when I, being the cheap-Ass that I am, let the house get to 7egF. I will post pics once I get everything installed. This should be the answer to all my problems and worries of insect infestation!...I hope. By the way, this is all being done for about the cost of an Avanti 54 model, with active humidification and all!
