Cardboard cigar boxes in a coolidor?

So far I've never put any cardboard cigar boxes in my coolidor because I'm worried that the humidity will interact with the cardboard and cause mold, bad odors, etc. Am I being paranoid?
And before the razzing starts, let me say these are pretty decent
La Aurora 'gars that came in these boxes, not White Owls or Phillies.
