Coolerodor and sponge question (UPDATE)

**** Well the coolerdor is set up, cigars resting, sponges in place, ******
extra cedar strips in and the whole thing is holding at 71%!!!

I'm buying my first cooler and I've read several posts about what to use to maintain humidity.

For my budget I'm going to use anti-bacterial sponges and distilled water.
Do I still need to use PG solution or is that for the foam?
