I've exchanged emails on this and ikenga made a good point... in areas where the ambient air humidity is very high (like near the ocean) then the humidity in the room is pushing into the humidor. It overwhelems the 50/50 solution (if its being used) and the humidity goes up.
The solution is to use something that absorbs water - and a solution richer in PG would do this (as stated in the above post). Some trial and error would work this problem to a happy conclusion. Good discussion, people!
