Favorite movie soundtracks

2 come to mind right away.

Curtis Mayfield- Superfly
Jimmy Cliff- The Harder They Come

the 25th anniversary edition of Superfly is awesome. Curtis was an amazing songwriter.

Yep, me too. SP, the one you mentioned would not have immediately come to mind, but I agree that was a great soundtrack. I remember as a kid dancing around to the Louie Prima tunes....and what was the other guy's name?....the one who did "Bare Nessessities"?......Phil ???

A few of my favorites, although I'm not sure they should qualify as soundtracks in the context you probably mean......

A Hard day's Night
Great Balls of Fire
The Buddy Holly Story

I suppose these are actually just "excuses" for soundtracks with the music actually being the title character. .......but I love the music!

....another one that comes to mind......"Crossroads"

....No, not the Brittainy Spears movie! .....The one I'm thinking of had Ralph Macchio kid in it along with Steve Vai........with some great music by Ry Cooder.
