that vinegar/ketchup smell is the tobacco undergoing the "aging process "
I am a big fan of McClellands blends . I am smoking a bit of St James now in a ben wade . oddly enough , I like to take a good pinch of blackwoods flake and mix it with a good pinch of g l pease` fillmore for my own version of st james woods . i bought a tin of perique that mcclelland offers and played around w.mixing it w/others but did not end up with a blend worth repeating.
enjoy your pipes . I LOVE the different flavors/nuances I enjoy from a good cigar but ,am addicted to the great flavor transformations i get from my pipe
