Cigars at the Gas Station or Convenience Store

Good day friends. It's Tuesday, and it's this day, each week when our own, or he used to be Mowee, Frank Seltzer publishes his weekly blog entry over at J*R Cigars' website.

He's got an interesting topic, one I've been hearing about in radio advertisements, eve, over the last two years or so. You can get some really good, notable cigars in gas stations now. General Cigars, Altadis and Drew Estate seem to be on the forefront of this development.

Convenience Store Cigars?

Rocky showed his Vintage 1990 and 1999 inb single packs while Oliva had the Serie G . Reserve and the Connecticut Nub.
Frank states that the prices are a touch higher, but not significantly so.

I have actually gotten some excellent cigars at some gas stations and convenience stores. Usually, I figured out that they were from Tropical Tobacco in my area.

I've never enjoyed that experience.

i kinda wondered if this was in the works when they brought out those plastic packs.

the plastic pack vs tubo, even cheap p[lastic tubo is stupid, but using a 2 inch wide plastic pack gives them acreage that can't be beaten by a little box of tubes. Probably twice the visible logo space. I haven't actally seen the packs, but the fact is that there's propably no way that the plastic envelope can be as protective from damage as a tube could be.

It would be nice to be able to stop in for gas, and pick up a $4 cigar, if there is such a thing... I don't think I've ever seen a thing I'd buy at a store other than backwoods, because around here it is all blunts and cigarillos.

Interesting to see where this goes, and if it will be helpful to me.

Being on the General Cigar ambassador program I received some cigars in the stay fresh packs last year when they were introducing them. I threw what they sent me into the cabinet where I keep my humidors and other cigar stuff. Let them sit there for a few months and then tried one. It was as fresh as if kept in a humidor. So who knows maybe we will be able to buy premium cigars at the gas station.
