I have a Whitey Ford memory, sort of. I was visiting Cooperstown with my Dad and my boys. We had just done the Hall of Fame and we walked down to Double Day Field.
My boys and I were sitting in the stands with a bunch of other people. There was a little league game being played. My Dad, who was wearing a Whitey Ford jersey, had gone to the bathroom and he found us and us and started walking our way. My son, Jonah, started shouting, "Look! It's Whitey Ford! It's Whitey Ford!!" My Dad said, "Okay Jonah." Without skipping a beat, Jonah shouted excitedly, "He knows my name!"
