Apparently, ZZ Top is not shy about re-producing/re-recording/re-editing/"refining" a previous hit for a Best of or boxed set.

I guess they figured those were the versions that people wanted. If they put the album versions then some people would probably complain that thats not the song that they heard on the radio.

They could put out a "single" CD, for those folks. People who buy box sets, or multi CD sets, expect full versions.

I remember when I first heard the remixed "La Grange". I liked the reverbed-out drum sound...at first. Now, I like the original.
