Two years ago I was at an outdoor Elton John concert and he was talking about Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and it was it's 40th anniversary. Damn! I remember buying that album when it came out!

First CD was Sam Cooke The Man and His Music.
Don’t remember first LP, first 45rpm, or first cassette. First 8 track Elton John Greatest Hits.

My older brother had a nice collection of CCR, Cream, and the Beatles.
Older sister brought back from college Jimmy Buffett A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean. |

First album I bought with my own money was ZZ Top, Tres Hombres. I'm pretty sure the 2nd one was Deep Purple, Machine Head.

First album was the Beach Boys, Little Deuce Coupe. I think it was in 1962. I still have it!

Rush - Permanent Waves. Had a buddy that was REALLY into music so I had a lot of cassette copies of his stuff before that (including the previous 6 Rush albums). We did not have a turntable in the house for the longest time - bought one myself with money from lawn mowing summer after sophomore year in HS and got Permanent Waves along with it.
