Plastic smell in Wine Cooler

Allright I bought a 52 bottle magic chef wine cooler a few weeks ago to turn into a humidor. My problem is that I cant get this plastic smell out of the wine cooler. I have washed it with soap twice and rubbed it down with rubbing alcohol twice but when I turn it on and leave it overnight it smells like plastic on the inside the next day. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting out this smell? I don't want to put my smokes in there and make them smell like plastic but it is 87 degrees right now and I don't have A/C and am getting quite worried about bugs.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.
