New Humidor

I ordered a small, inexpensive humidor from Cuban Crafters (sorry, Dave, you didn't have exactly what I was looking for), and it just arrived. I wet the humidifier element with 50/50 solution and put a small dish of solution in the humidor to start getting it ready. I figured it would take probably a week or more, especially in the forced hot air environment of my office. I stuck my digital hygro in it, just so it would be there when I was ready to check. Of course, being curious (not to mention impatient), I took a look about an hour later. The damned thing was reading 70% RH!

Could it be that the humidor arrived already "seasoned" and ready to go? Is there any reason to wait before removing the dish of solution and sticking my cigars in there?
