It was a double mooch! Earlier this year, I was on a business trip to California. When I checked into the hotel, I persuaded the person at the desk to let me have a room with a balcony for the same discount price at which I'd booked the original room. I wanted a place to herf in peace. Bagging the balcony room was mooch #1.

I was having dinner with a couple of my coworkers the next night, and the conversation somehow

turned to cigars. One of my coworkers, who I didn't even know herfed, casually mentioned that he had managed to accumulate a nice selection of Habanos on his international trips. "Heck, I brought a couple of Montecristos and a Bolivar with me," says he.

Later, as the evening was winding down, I asked point-blank "What's it going to take to get one of those Cubans?" "Smoke one with me" was his reply. So I supplied the balcony and the Guinness, and he supplied a pair of 5-year old Monte #2's.

We have our slacks specially tailored to gently cradle our massive 'nads.

Actually, it's part and parcel of herfing. Good cigars are made better by enjoying them in the company of friends (or others) who similarly enjoy the cigars.

My best mooch was my first premium cigar. First real corporate Christmas party after military life. Premium restraunt, open bar and great co-workers. After dinner the staff brought around the humidors, my office manager told me I should try one and that her husband would help me pick one out. He suggested a Macunudo Robusto, it was great!!! I didn't know cigars could be that good. That started my wonderlust for cigars.

I need to call her and thank her

I'm 6'5" tall. There was this little guy smoking at a bar I went to once. I walked up and said, "Give me one of your cigars or I'l kick your ass!"

Well, not really. I can't back that up.

That's funny...I'm 3'2" and a big sumnofabit came up to me while I was smokin in a bar and said "Gimme a cigar or I'll lick your a**" So I kicked him in the shin, stole his cigars, and took off running...
