I have used beads and think they do the job.

I have used floral foam with PG for about ten years and it does the job without ever experiencing any of the issues you describe. Stopping mold? Pest control? I just don't know where you're coming from there.

For me the issue is cost. Why should I invest in beads when they cost way more than the gallon of PG I bought years ago and blocks of floral foam?

The other issue is choice. You want to use beads, fine. Anybody wants to use DryMistats or crystals, fine. Ditto Cigar Oasis, etc.

If I can find concrete proof that PG causes cancer or disease or causes my smokes to become harsh and unsmokable, then I'll switch. But not based on anecdotal evidence that, IMHO, is something that I don't think many of us here have ever heard before..
