At the price it goes for, it should be!
Truth be told, I wasn't totally blown away by the 'Distilled in 1984 & Earlier Years' version I last tasted, especially when I compared it to some of the previous releases from the late 1960s through the mid to late 1970s - many of those releases are already beginning to command seriously inflated prices at auction, a testament to their inherent excellence. However, many have noted that subsequent 'vintages' (the distillery dropped the single vintage stipulation around the time it issed that '1984' edition) hit the bull's-eye. Either way, the 18YO certainly represents a superbly crafted and finely delineated whisky.
