Looking for Spanish Cedar

Do any of you have a line on lower priced Spanish Cedar?

Darn stuff is expensive. Almost cheaper to buy a humidor already done.

Woodcraft has it for $10. sf 3/8 thick at a local store. Rockler has it for $8.40 sf plus shipping.

A place in town has it for $5.60 sf, but it's 1" thick and rough sawn, so would need milling which should jack the price up more.

Please let me know if you have any, or know of a cheaper source. thanks

There are several guys selling finished boards on ebay. But not by the board foot. Maybe you can find something that fits your needs and budget. Check it out:

Thanks xrundog.

I just placed an order for 10 board feet from Emerson Hardwood in Portland http://www.emersonhardwood.com/ehc/default.asp that I will likely be 6" - 10" wide and one inch thick. I'll have it milled down to 3/8" which will double my board feet! End cost should be around 5.70 per BF. Almost half the cost of retail pieces.

Monkeyboy,

Better late than never, too bad I missed this post the other day. I just lined a wine cooler and did the search of the globe for best price, http://www.internetlumber.com/

Killer price, and 1/4" thick as well as cheap shipping.

for next time

Nope, SC is pretty soft, like pine. Cuts and sands easy.
