OK, here's an update:
I filled up the DC humidifier last night with distilled water, dropped it in, and checked it this morning - already up to 67%, and when I opened the lid for about 30 seconds, it only dropped about 3%, instead of the 7% drop I was seeing last night [before the new humidifier went in]. Yay for DC  -John
