For me, the stability of the beads was the main factor in using them.

When I was using oasis foam and PG solutions, the humidity within my coolers had a much wider range, maybe from 60 to 75 %, depending upon ambient humidity levels and how often or how much water I added.

Now the range is seldom more than 2 or 3 %, from 63 to 66%.

I don't wet the beads, but use them as a control device.

I kept my homemade credos and when the RH level drops, I simply add a teaspoonful or so of distilled water to the credos and the beads do the rest.
