The Last Waltz
I checked the DVD out from our library today - haven't watched it in years; what a concert! and such a well made movie. Scorsese captured it beautifully, and the performance by the Band and the all the guests are excellent - Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Dr. John, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Joni Mitchell, Paul Butterfield, Van Morrison... the list goes on
If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor. |

I agree
I think the Band was one of the top RnR bands ever. I like their mix of styles. Levom Helm is real bitter about the LW basically said Scorsese and Robertson was the only people that got paid. Levon said that most of the artists never got a cent for their participation...etc. It was a very bitter article. I am a Levon Helm fan but not too much a Robbie Robertson fan. regardless they put out soine great tunes. |

AMC ran a RnR weekend some months back and Last Waltz was included. I had forgotten how good it was and now that it's on DVD I'll have to fork over the dinero to own a copy. A great piece of history to say the least.

This would have been a GREAT movie, if they had STAYED RETIRED.
