Best Places to buy a Pipe online?

I'm going to start smoking a pipe again. I keep going back and forth, and what it really boils down to is that I'm a lazy bastard. I like the convenience of the cigar. Clip, light, smoke. As easy as it gets. But with a pipe a lot more work is involved. Of course, I realize that once I get used to it all of the pipe smoking labor will become second nature and be no big deal.

Right now I have 2 pipes, including a corncob pipe. Both work very well. But I was thinking of adding a few. I'm not looking to spend a fortune. And, in fact, I might just grab a couple more corncob pipes. But, I might want to get something that looks good, too. Any recommendations as to websites that sell pipes at decent prices. I'm not looking to buy rare and exotic pipes. But something that works well and looks nice would be good.

Thanks.

Thanks. I'll give them a try.

Have you ever tried Amazon? They seem to have a large selection, with very good pricing. But I don't know about the quality.

What kind of pipe are you looking for? For you or a gift?

I Have not used Amazon to buy pipes, but I have browsed them looking at pipes. They would seem like a good place to look for pipes.

I'm looking for a pipe for me. I have two pipes now. A corncob and a briar. Both work fine, but I was thinking it would be good to add a pipe or two to the rotation. Plus, although less important, a new pipe is always fun to buy. Some pipes just look cool.

You'll get better prices on top brands from the above sites, especially when on sale. A lot of cheap crap on Amazon as well. If any interest in estate pipes, there are a few sites dedicated to this as well as eBay if you know what to look for:

Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'm looking for. I have no idea what is or isn't a good price. If I find something I like I'll compare a few sites or just ask the group.

I have to admit that I really like the look of some pipes, and I could easily see myself collecting pipes. But then I remind myself that the whole purpose of a pipe is to enjoy tobacco. Thus far, I've been able to avoid spending crazy amounts of money on pipes. Thus far . . .

Just like cigars, brand name has a big effect on price. Ascorti, Ashton, Castello, Cavicchi, Dunhill, Radice and some others will generally be priced higher. Some mid-priced brands that still have good quality include Brebbia, Peterson, Savinelli, Stanwell. There are many brands out there and most are pretty good for the casual smoker. I started with a couple no-name pipes from my local B&M that cost $10/ea. They didn't have the best looks, but were good smokers.

My advice is to find a pipe shape and finish that appeals to you. Then shop around. eBay is a good resource for used pipes as you can check the price history for past sales. I'd recommend the seller "pipestud". He's been selling quality pipes in all price ranges for 15 years and will not disappoint.

If it was packed too tight, it would be hard to draw in smoke. Try drying it out more. Should smoke better.

That's what I thought. I figured if it was to tight it wouldn't draw well. I guess I'll try drying it a bit.
