I vote for cloth bags for the media. Easy to make from scrap cloth and it allows moisture to pass freely into and out of the media from all directions. Oh and I think Mad Dawg hit it on the head. A cigar that is drier on the inside than on the outside will tend to tunnel. A recent increase in humidity will definitely cause this. Most of my "tunneling/canoeing" problems though have been due to poor construction...
