That is a truly nice piece. Simple, all American, craftsman, nice wood and elegant finish. Not extravagant.
Not a boardroom mahogany, a white collar or middle management home or maybe office humidor to me. The sort that belongs in a house like mine, right on the desk in my 'den'. An English 'dunhill'? Maybe, but if it was for export, they nailed it. But, you suggested earlier that it may have had copycat brass, maybe so. It's a bit ornate for the box. The box itself is classic American, whether reproduction or original. |
