2000 Consuegra No.9 Rothschild

A 4.5x50 Rothschild with a smooth cap, fine textured body, brown, maduro wrapper with a hard bunch.

Slightly uneven burn, barely conical coal, very white, typical structure ash.

Draw was easy, aroma was faint and subtle, but fragrant, and no burn in the throat.

Flavor was of ample richness, medium strength, body and flavor, consisting only of aged, musty taste and one dimensional balance.

No sweetness, bitterness or saltiness, and a medium burn on the tongue and light sharpness.

Overall, a lackluster, common character, medium body and generally just fair smoke.

Final score was 48 out of 100.

Thanks for the review Sean! I'm surprised that cigar had any character after 21 years.

Unfortunately, all of its original taste and character was gone, leaving only that aged and musty taste I get from most very aged cigars.

It scored well in every category actually, with the exception of taste, which is what killed the score.

Its been my pleasure to try these cigars from the boom era, that was well before I discovered the awesomeness of cigars.

Even ones with poor scores have still been fun to smoke and then read @ElkTwin backstory. Makes a unique, neat collaboration that I have really enjoyed.

Down to the last 2, so very much hoping ElkTwin has more up his sleeve to continue this with something new

Reading the backstory alongside the reviews has been absolutely awesome. Adds a bit of nostalgia with the present.

My thoughts exactly. I hope it continues with a new batch.

I agree completely. A lot of laughs and wonderful nostalgia.
