Consuegra #9 Rothschild maduro
I just finished a Connie #9 M. It along with some friends arrived today from JR in great conditon, and ready to smoke. I picked the uglist stick from the bundle. It had water spots, some binder showing through the wrapper, and an ugly cap. I needed to find out if the cigars were ready, and the ugly one had to go first. Despite the looks, I enjoyed it very much. It started out sweet and nutty and leveled off towards the end. The draw was perfect, as was the burn. These were a great deal at under $1 a piece. The bundle had a Hoyo de Monterrey band, and a El Rey Del Mundo band, does this dictate what seconds I have?
I give these

Probably not.
When I get a great smoking Connie, like the #70 I had last night, I swear it's a Punch. But when I get a bad one, I swear JR is ripping off cigar lovers everywhere. |

one thing I noticed is that I thought these would be a great, inexpensive bundle to hand out to buddies who are inexperienced for Poker nights and what not, but what I realized is, the cigar can be too full bodied and harsh for some of the younger green pallettes especially when they get a bad one.
For me, they smoke fine. I'm sure a few years of age can mellow it down, but it's a great cheapie to have around |

Nice review, but I never get "sweet and nutty" with a Villazon maduro.
Usually more along the "leathery and earthy/mushroomy" notes. Connies rule!

I bought a couple bundles a while back I smoked one and it was way to fresh and had a tight draw I figure I'll smoke another one after they have a year or so of age.

Hey, if General would make a nice brown t-shirt with a connie logo on it, I'd buy it...
