Quintuple refined butane?
I was at a local cooking store and noticed they were selling Vector Quintuplus quintuple refined butane for their kitchen torches. The Vector butane I use at home for my torch lighter is triple refined. I know Lava's been making 5x for a while, but I've had better luck with Vector. Two questions for the group: 1) Is quintuple refined really any better than triple refined? 2) Is triple refined Vector butane still being made? I’ll assume 5x is more expensive, though I haven’t compared prices head to head. My lighter is fairly reliable, but if the 5x is a better product than the 3x, maybe I can head off a clog. What say you?

Theoritically 5x is better but I've had great luck with a couple different 3x fuels as well as Lava. I think as long as you use at least 3x you're probably good to go

I've always used Lava which is Qintuple, and seldom have lighter problems, even with the cheapos.

I believe Lava is having some financial difficulties right now Supposedly they're working it out and will have the good stuff back on the market soon. In the meantime I'm told the Vektor Quintuplus is just as good

Double/triple/quintuple refined sounds like a bunch of marketing BS to me...
Do I hear sextuple ?
