You guys are going to think I'm nuts...
I had an SLR Reserva Especial maduro Monday night and only got about halfway through when I got tired and went to bed. I didn't want to waste it, so I purged and put it in my office (at home). Tonight I went in to get the ashtray and there it was. It's a beautiful cigar, so dark and oily, all I could think of was it had to be nasty stale. But I figured what the heck, I knocked the ash off, fired up the torch and re-lit. That's right, four days in the ashtray and I re-lit it.
To my surprise, it was exactly the same as it was Monday night. Smooth, flavorful and NO STALE TASTE! Wow! This is amazing. I've NEVER had a cigar re-light with anything left but a sour taste, but this one stunned me. A half hour later, I'm sitting here with about an inch left on it and it's still rich, leathery and is one of the tastiest SLRs I've ever had.
