Where to start?

I've seriously kicked around the idea the last couple years now. I don't know why the pipe intrigues me. Maybe its just memories of my great grandpa..

Where do I start? What's a good tobacco, Prince Albert is the only thing that comes to mind. I just remember that old telephone prank. I don't even know if they still make the stuff

Prince Albert is still around and very popular. You can find pouches in many places like convenience stores, Walmart, and grocery stores. Give it a try and tell us what you think.

There’s plenty of YouTube vids on preparing a tobacco pipe for smoking. Check them out before you try packing a pipe. It takes some practice.

Prince Albert is a nice mild pipe tobacco. If you want to try a stronger tobacco, I recommend 5 Brothers pipe tobacco. It is a full flavor burley tobacco that is always a good smoke.

Other basic tobaccos you might consider are Granger and Velvet.

Good Luck!

All of the above tobacco recommendations are spot on. A few tips as you get started, include: 1) Pack carefully & not too tight; and 2) Smoke SLOWLY! Really a lot like cigars: take your time & enjoy the journey--
