Aroma De Cuba Humidor

So, I bought a humi from a herfer on here it's quiet beautiful. But when he shipped it to me FedEx dropped it and cracked a corner. So me and he worked out an agreeable deal after he and FedEx did their thing.

I tried fixing the humi by gluing the corner then did the seven day humidity test and it was at 50%. So not holding the humidity. When I first got the humi I emailed Savoy asking if they repair humis. To date not one peep its been a couple months.

So, long story short anyone do humi repair? I am a woodworker but have limited experience with removing veneer.

I have offered it to my high school teacher wife for her classroom to keep paper or pencils or whatever she wishes. Sucks to have such a beautiful humi go to waste.

Assumed to repair the humi would have to take it apart. May be wrong. I can text you pics as I use photobucket and don't think I can post pics from there anymore.

Did you split a seam? Gluing and clamping should fix that no problem. I'm not too crazy about the lid seal. Seems like if it's leaky, it's there. Did you do the dollar bill test?

Taking it apart will cost more than the box is worth. Easy.

With the lid open, drape a dollar bill across the seal edge. Close the lid. Pull on the dollar. You should at least encounter resistance. With a great seal that bill will barely move. Do it all around the edge. Any bad spots? If the seal is real loose, there's your problem. If it's tight, look elsewhere.

So, are there quality humi makers out there? I know Savoy. Any recommendations?

Modern humidors are not my thing. I have no idea who might repair them.

You confident in the accuracy of your hygrometer?
