Liga Privada T52 Toro

Just went to a Drew Estates event tonight at the Cuban Cigar Factory in Irvine, CA and tried the Liga Privada T52 Toro. I've been wanting to try one of these since I heard of them. The cigar is a hefty 6 X 52 so you better make some time to smoke this. The wrapper looks very rich, dark and oily so this stick definetly has the look going on.

First impressions on the first 1/2, this cigar is very smooth so for those who don't like the peppery type of cigar, this one is for you. Similar to the #9 but with more taste. Tons of smoke. The taste is like dark coffee/chocolate, but the finish is a little short for me. Great aroma. At the half, the flavor kicks up a bit and is very consistent like the first 1/2. This stick is very well packed and burns slow but well. It's not strong on the nicotine at this point so if you don't like the big nicotine kick, you'll like it.

As I smoked down on the last half, the flavor intensity kicks up again at the last 2" and the I could feel the nicotine coming in. It sneaks up on you. It's not overpowering but it gets you're attention. The last 2" was the most enjoyable for me. The finish started lingering more to my taste and smoked it down until I couldn't hold it anymore. Too bad I didn't bring any toothpicks. This cigar lasted about 2 hours for me.

About the event:
The event continues tomorrow (Saturday Dec. 12) from 5pm so if you're interested, get down there tomorrow and try one of these. The people at the shop are friendly and the humidor has a good selection of cigars. Fabian is the Drew Estates rep that was there and it was cool meeting him. Ask about the specials they have-there a buy some get some free deals going on and they have merchandise they are raffling off. Here's the link for those interested.

I enjoyed this cigar a lot. Interesting thing I noticed is that at the trade show, it seemed more spicier then even a month after the show.

I just saw these at the local B&M, sounds like I need to give them a try.

I smoke a good deal, but I don't review often, so please be kind. I tried a Liga Privada T-52 this afternoon while motorvating the highways and byways. IMO, everybody should seize this much yum while on this side of the grass.

From pre-light to nub, I there's great subtle changes in taste. Everyone is different; but less big cocoa for me throughout. Rather, a soft gingerbread in the prelight and rich changes of earth, sweet with very quiet leathers and a cocoa cameo when it felt like it.

It sure is pretty, Miss Crabtree. And the shiny thing has a near perfect burn. For those who care, the smoke itself booms at the slightest puff like it's been asleep for 10+ years.

But it hasn't. That feather-easy draw and complex flavor mules in a nice little knock to the noggin you may not notice (I didn't anyway) until it's time to get up and stroll to the storm drain to toss the nub. Then comes that woozy jazz I probably don't have to explain. Full disclosure - Drew Estate is a great friend to the New England Herf [NERF] I work with every year - but this thing is cigar sex and imo, worth the price.
