EP CARRILLO ALLEGIANCE SIDEKICK

This cigar has a medium-dark Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper which is very smooth. Unlike other Carrillo cigars, this is produced by the Oliva Factory in Nicaragua. There is a light mustiness in the foot. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Scotch Ale.



Initial flavors are mainly earthy with a hint of sweetness on the sides of the pallet. The smoke is thick and medium to full bodied. The ash is firm so far and the burn is very even.



In the first third a bit of spice joins the flavor profile; not a strong spice, more like a savory spice. The retrohale is medium bodied with a touch of white pepper. The ash is cracking and can drop freely. The burn is still even.



During the second third the flavor profile remains excellent but is dulled slightly by the ale. I would recommend something lighter. The ash continues to drop so I put the cigar down between draws. The burn remains even.



Approaching the final inch the flavor profile gains just a bit of strength but maintains its excellent complexity. The construction of the cigar was very good as well.



Overall an excellent smoke. All of the quality is what you would expect from Carrillo, with the distinctly Nicaraguan tobacco as a difference 9.5/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
