PCA proceeding as planned
With news of postponed trade shows circulating worldwide, PCA assures you that as of now, PCA 2020 is still moving on as planned. In light of this, we would like to share our dedication to transparency and our commitment to each and every one of you that a safe and successful show is our top priority. Currently, many trade shows, conventions and meetings are postponing their events to summer months, instead of canceling.
We are closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and remain in contact regularly with staff of the Sands Expo & Convention Center. They are increasing their health and sanitation protocol to ensure anyone who enters the property is not exposed to the virus and will continue to adapt as the need arises. Other locations in Las Vegas are doing the same. Most have gone as far as hiring additional staff to maintain heightened cleaning schedules and sanitation protocol. If you have questions about COVID-19 prevention, please refer to the guidelines according to the CDC here. One of our biggest concerns at PCA is knowing that people travel internationally to attend our trade show. As of now, there are very few travel restrictions into the US internationally and none nationally, so our current policies remain unchanged. We will re-evaluate the situation continuously and adapt as the need arises. We are also keeping apprised of infection rates locally and will keep that in consideration for those concerned with travel. We will do everything we can at our show to ensure the safety of everyone involved, including expanding our own health and sanitation protocol as needed. Each year we have medical staff on site and will continue to defer to their expertise, the local hospitals, the CDC and WHO for further information at every turn of the show. At this time, booth sales, selection, event logistics and planning are going on as scheduled with the same policies, procedures and deadlines in place. Currently, no refunds or credits are being issued. However, should travel restrictions increase or we receive further information from the Sands Expo & Convention Center, CDC or state and local health agencies we will reevaluate and communicate any changes. Currently, we will work with exhibitors and concerns on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions, please contact Christine, Director of Associate Member & Industry Relations, at christine@premiumcigars.org or 202-849-6046. To stay up-to-date on COVID-19 in Nevada, Nationwide and Internationally, please see the following resources: Nevada Department of Public and Behavioral Health Updates on COVID-19 CDC infographic on current cases in the US We are committed to keeping you updated regularly to ensure your safety and success.
