Outdoor seating with heaters at La Siesta for breakfast. Had huevos con chorizo, fried potatoes, and smashed pinto beans. The beans are not refried but smashed with a potato masher. I like them better, not as heavy as refried beans.

MENUDO. Traditional Mexican soup most popular eaten for breakfast. It is made with tripe, pigs feet, hominy, chili powder, salt, pepper, oregano, other spices. Usually ingredients prepared in the afternoon and allowed to slow cook overnight to help tenderize the tripe.
