CW News: Louisiana Legislasture Suspends Taxes for IPCPR

The Louisiana Legislature has finally done something intelligent, and beneficial for residents and visitors alike.

Those of you who went to the IPCPR show here in New Orleans last year, will recall, that EVERY CIGAR GIVEN AWAY was also taxed. Exhibitors were forced to pay the 20% state excise tax on tobacco and 4% state sales tax.

These have been suspended for the days of the show, for this year. It was introduced by a Representative from Lafayette. But he was helped by Representative Jeff Arnold, a friend of mine from high school days, who was at our CW Herf during the show last year.
