How Many Humidors Required?

Is it better to have 1 larger humidor (300-500) or a few smaller (50-100) humidors?

300-500 isn't "large"

Makes no difference actually.

I prefer keeping smaller humidors, because if something should happen (i.e. mold), then you still have something left. I've got 2-75's, and a 150 on the way. One of the 75's was growing mold. Hence, my insistance on smaller humis.

If you have one large, then most likely you are stacking boxes. Then when looking for a cigar you have more stuff to move around so smaller might be easier. Start with a 40-50 qt. cooler good size and it should hold about 20-25 boxes. I think I have the qt size correct???

I go with smaller ones. I have one larger one and two smaller ones stacked on top of each other. I don't have room for a cooler or another big humidor and as others have pointed out... if you have mold, beetles, etc. everything is ruined if in one box, it is contained and losses minimized.

I have a couple as well. A 50 count for my "ready to smoke" cigars ... and a 100 count for "storage cigars". They are both chock full now .... I need a cooler!

I have an Aristocrat Mxt for box storage and a Vicksburg for singles. Seems to work OK.
