Hey Guys I wanted to post to let you all know that we are doing hosting Seagars By The Sea again which is a A Cigar Smoke to raise money for Homes For Our Troops. To learn more about the charity check out www.homesforourtroops.org.
Here is the press release SECOND ANNUAL "SEAGARS BY THE SEA" EVENT, TO BENEFIT DISABLED WAR VETS FROM MAINE, SLATED FOR SEPTEMBER 26 IN PORTLAND Event to feature premium cigar samples, live music, spirit pours and live auction Portland, Maine On Sunday, September 26, a crowd of 200 will gather along Portland's waterfront for the Second Annual "Seagarsbythe Sea" event, the Maine fundraiser for Homes for Our Troops (www.homesforourtroops.org), a national non-profit organization created to raise funds for the construction and adaptation of homes for severely disabled war veterans. The event will take place rain or shine from 2 to 6 p.m. in a custom tent at Seaside at Long Wharf along the Portland waterfront (25 Long Wharf, in front of DiMillo's on the Water). A wide variety of hand-rolled cigars from over a dozen cigar suppliers will be offered, to feature premium selections from Columbia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua. Live music by folk rock band "The World's Finest" will be featured throughout the afternoon, alongside a variety of appetizers from DiMillo's on the Water. Additionally, guests will enjoy sample pours of award-winning Cold River spirits from Maine Distilleries. A cash bar also will be available for guests, featuring Cold River cocktails created especially for the event. Both a silent and live auction, to be emceed by former Miss Maine USA and Mrs. Maine-America Heather Coutts Clark, will be a part of this year's event; the auctions will feature a variety of items including humidors, cigars and choice cigar lighters from top-tier cigar providers. $50 tickets are available wherever fine cigars are sold in Maine, according to Jacques deVillier of Portland's Old Port Wine Merchants, and also at the door the day of the event. Event attendance will be capped at 200 guests. One hundred percent of proceeds will go to homebuilding projects in Maine conducted by Homes For Our Troops, which is included in the "Top-Rated Veterans & Military Charities" listings of The American Institute of Philanthropy (described as "the pit bull of watchdogs" by The New York Times). "Our inaugural Seagars by the Sea event was a big hit last year," deVillier noted. "Mainers are known for their generosity, but also for the conviction they feel when it comes to helping out disabled vets from our own state. They've done so much for us over the years; this is the least we can do to help repay the debt they're owed." For further event details, contact Jacques deVillier at Old Port Wine Merchants (207.772.9463, wishyouwere@oldportwine.com) or Kate Luneburg (207.699.5500 ext 104, kate@frontburnerpr.com).
