Current humidity here is 93%.
If you were here, I think I'd just leave it outside for an hour or so.

No shit, 93% is enough to make anything soggy! Damn that's awful

I have some pouches left over from my temporary relocation to England back in 2000. It's been on my mind to see if I could revive them. Starting with an Ogden's of Liverpool 50g Walnut Flake. The inner plastic tray was still sealed, but the flakes were very dry and brittle. Smell was still enticing. Dropped it in a 8oz Ball jar with a 58% Boveda pack. I'll check back on it in a week or two.

Good article on this subject…
https://paykocpipes.com/blog/5-ways-...-back-to-life/ Ljutic, the bowl and wet paper towel method is my favorite way to rehydrate dry pipe tobacco.

Walnut Flake appears to be improving. It's starting to feel a little pliable instead of crispy turn to dust.
Time for another science project. Two 50 gram pouches of 20+ year old Balkan Sobranie. Tobacco weight was 80 grams total before jarring so I've added two 8 gram 58% Boveda packs to the jar. I have a feeling it's going to be a long restoration. |
