2019 Oktoberfest Beers are out!
It may be 102 outside, but these are still some of my favorite beers. Trying the Shiner version right now. It’s decent, but I wouldn’t buy any more of it. To many other ones to try.

I always waited patiently for the autumn beers to get here. I got the mother's fest beer last month, and it was good, but character was thin. I guess that I"m jaded, but I'm just not enthused this year. Our beer store has honest to god dumped all of the premiums. They are carrying fruits, IPA, and so forth, with almost all of the black beers gone and browns as well. Vanilla porter? Coffee stout? they got them, and guinness, but they dumped obsidian stout, which I thought was perfect.
Maybe it's seasonal. Maybe they will bring back the heavy ales for fall. I'm not holding my breath. There will be a dozen pumpkin beers but few actual fests. By all means share reviews, I would like to find a good one. Was it spaten or another one that was so impressive a couple years back? |

given the amount of unconsumed fest beer I have on hand now from previous years its unlikely I will delve deeply into the pool this year.

They are consistently good. I am mainly sticking to local brewers but they often times like to get “creative” and cute with these kind of beers.

Tested the Sam yesterday.
I would give it . I was pleased but felt it lacked some flavor compared to other years. |
