Not much of a coffee drinker anymore

And I don't eat much chocolate either. The wife left half a cup behind when she went to work and there was Halloween candy lying about (as one would expect on 1 November). A couple of bites of chocolate along with a few sips of coffee tasted really good this morning.

Found a killer deal on ground veal this week, so I'm going to play with making some different types of meatballs today (got all of my chores done Fri and Sat). I'm hoping this opens me up to some experimentation. Time to play with food. Worst case scenario: I have to eat it all myself, but since I'm going to make them to suit my own tastes, there are worse sentences to serve out (pun intended).

Yum!

I NEED my cup of coffee in the morning. Otherwise, thing's progress at the speed of a sloth.

Veal meatballs sound tasty. This past week, I've cooked a jarret de veau (veal shank) with black beans as well as a hearty soup using veal shank. We don't eat much veal at home, but those two dishes proved very satisfying.

Doc told me I could have nicotine or caffeine, pick one, because of my blood pressure...I told her in no way was I giving up cigars....so I have one cup of CDM Decaf Coffee & Chicory every day and that's it. Took me about 2 weeks to get over the caffeine withdrawal headaches...

Good luck on your culinary exploits, Jas.

Yeah. Coffee. roasting my own is very fun, very cool. Roasted 4 different half pound batches yesterday, and the aroma this morning from the beans is unique and inviting - each in its own way. Took the CostaRican for a spin this morning. Deep and rich with a bit of an unsweetened cocoa note. mmm.

Jason, try adding shredded mozzarella to your meatball mix. It helps tp keep them moist.

I've never been a fan of coffee, and believe me, I've tried. I like tea, but I can't stand coffee.

For what it's worth, I don't like beer either. Maybe I just don't don't like beverages that tend to be bitter. Oh well, no big deal. I'll continue to enjoy water, soda, tea and the occasional whiskey.

There's an idea!

Cutting back a little on coffee. Don't roast like I used to. I have a new popper, but it only gets them to about city, or so, and I don't want to be sitting outside all the time.

Got a Keurig a couple years ago (gift) so I make one cup of French Market in the mornings, or New Orleans Roasters dark roast. Community at work, but it's acidy, so I switch to iced tea many days.

Odd isn't it?

Coffee doesn't bother me that way, but too much tea does. Hot tea in particular but too much iced tea will get me too. I think the tannins may be the culprit for me though.
