I bought a 12V5" PC fan, a digital timer and a universal voltage adapter. Hard-wired the fan to the voltage adapter, and run it via a digital timer for 3min. every 3 hours. Works like a charm, and I can vary the speed of the fan (faster in the summer when it's warmer) by adjusting the voltage on the converter.
4.5V in the winter, 6V in the summer.
