Tip for Eliminating cigar odor in vehicle
Believe it or not, I used a box of Arm&Hammer baking soda, the kind designed for the refrigator odors.
I put some in the ashtray, and left the box open overnight. Next day, no discernable odors. Two days later..even my wife could not even smell a trace. I've used A&H before..and it worked somewhat..but the odor absorbing kind for refrigerators really works. BTW, I smoked a LGC Serie R 5 (M), which is a pretty strong cigar.

I'd go with a bigger box. This one allows the side panel to open, but has like a cloth covering...so it doesn't spill everywhere.
Details: I smoked an LGC Serie R 5, in a Ford Expedition on a two hour drive. I did leave the window cracked open a bit. (while smoking). I also poured some of the baking soda in the ash tray. Sort of heads off the lingering odors at the start doing it that way. After that, the vehicle, stayed completely closed for literally hours. We had to stay at a hospital (wife had minor surgery)..so the vehicle was sitting in the sun all day long with windows closed. Whether keeping the windows closed was a factor or not, I can't say. I can say..there is no cigar smell. In fact, I just left the box in...because it keeps my vehicle smelling fresh and it's a whole lot better than a pine tree.

Talk about timely, I am heading out to trash out the truck in about 10 minutes. The wife and I are heading to Cape Cod next weekend "antiquing" so she wants to take the truck and I was curious IF I could get the smell out (cigars that is). It would be a long trip with her keeping the corner of her lip up repeating "How can you stand it?"
This man's castle is his truck. I am going to head to the market and get the A&H and a box of dryer sheets. Just finished a Perdomo "The Cigar" Robusto. Smelled like poop! Taste like cndy

Febreeze on the carpets and fabrics and wipe down the inside of the glass and dash with a cleaner.

Nice!
Thanks for the tip. I smoke a club on the way to work every day. I use dryer sheets under the seats and have leather...so that helps. Regular cleaning helps out a lot. My car started to smell and I gave the inside a good cleaning...much better...but still some minor smell. I'll have to use the A&H to get all those lingering odors out. |
