Considering a Zippo

The only time I don't use matches is outside, (which unfortunately is where I smoke most of the time), and I hate torch lighters. I also am looking for some sort of refinement in my lighter, some of the space age lighters seem better suited for crack pipes than cigars. But the great question is whether the zippo fuel will foul my cigar. What are your experiences with zippos and cigars?
