I've found my new go to cigar!

Thanks to Brian.

As most of you know, I just love Punch/HDM Rothschild Maduro Cigars. My only complaint is that they don't last long enough. Brian pointed me in the direction of the HDM No. 50 Maduro that is sold by JRs. It's the same ring gauge as the Roths (50), but is 6" long rather than 4.5". I've wanted something that lasts longer, but provides the same pleasure. This looked like it might do the trick, and at a little over $2 a stick, I couldn't say no.

My sticks arrived on Tuesday and last night I lit one up. All I can say is that I was in heaven. The cigar is perfect. Perfect draw, perfect taste, and thick chewy smoke. I couldn't ask for more. I'm seriously thinking about filling the Aristocrat with them.

Thanks Brian!

I thought you had finally found that Thompson's stinkers were your new go to.

good to hear that it worked.

A 6x50 is probably the best cigar for me, at least, but a 45-48 RG makes it better.

It's a comfortable length, it can last an hour, and I can still have an hour's worth of smoking without singeing my duck dynasty wannabe facial hair.

It's too bad that the robusto 5x50 is always less expensive, and more or less the new default size. It used to be that you found a hell of a lot of coronas, and I like coronas, but they aren't always right.

I've had them before. It's a great smoke, and pretty much the same as these new HDM's I'm smoking. But the HDMs are dirt cheap.

pitas run over $120 a box. The price of punch is absolutely stunning. They used to be relatively cheap compared to many of the other brands.

partagas
6x50 - $101
5.5 x 50 $97

Punch

6 x 50 $103
5.25 x 52 $108

Macanudo
6 x 50 $160
5.5 x 50 $123

Guarantee you that partagas used to cost a shitload more than punch, and about as much as macanudo.

BTW, I understand that general is dumping a whole lot of numbers, some punch, hoyos, cao, etc.
