well... i was very excited about trying this cigar. ive been reading lots of good things. i bought it yesterday at my local shop. this is a beautiful, dark cigar wrapped in a ceder sleeve. rock solid construction. very impressive. till....
i lit this beauty. then, the prince turned into a frog. it didnt want to burn. it was like trying to light a wet cigar. just smoldered. i worked with it for quite awhile, managed to get it going but, very little smoke, tight draw, uneven burn. bad taste. my conclusion is this was either a very over humidified cigar, or i just got a fluke bad one. i suspect it was a humidity problem. the high level of humidity these shops keep there humidors at is really annoying. if they are gonna keep em at over 70%, they should tell the customer to dry em out a few days before smoking. but, being a newbie, i suppose i could be wrong. i really, really wanted to like this cigar. oh well... ill just try another and hope things improve. sucks to waste a good cigar though. specialty cigar shops should know better.
