i'll chime in now that i've got a bit of experience in all areas.
Zippo and fuels- #1 Zippo Lighters man's best friend, old faithful, etc... been using them for near 15yrs and never sent one for repair. Can be used for cigs, cigars, and pipes, also as a light in the dark. #2 Zippo Fluid makes or breaks your lighter. Ronson fuel has a nasty odor, stick to the good Zippo brand, in a black can nowadays. This does NOT foul my cigs, cigars, or my pipe tobacco. Torches and fuels - #3 Z-plus insert pretty reliable so far, using Zippo butane. While i like it, i still prefer my regular Zippo for everday carry. #4 Colibri Firebird bought for $15 for the hell of it, looks neat. Worked like shit with Colibri brand butane, but it loves the Zippo fuel. #5 Colibri Butane - pure crap in my experience. #6 Zippo butane - great stuff, well worth the money. So now having Zippos as well as torches, i'll use either one with no real preferrences either way. Fuels involved pose no issues either way. I have a belt "holster" for a Zippo and it always holds a regular fluid Zippo, but i throw the Z-Plus in my Traveldor when i go herfing. The torch lights a cigar faster, but i'm not sure thats a good thing either. It's hard to "toast" the foot with a torch, it ain't exactly gentle. |
