OK, this is an offshoot of the overrated bands thread. However, the take here is that these are bands that have broken up which should have just stayed that way. I'm not necessarily saying these bands weren't good in the first place. Maybe they were good - even great. But, in the second telling of the joke, something was missing - maybe relevance, vitality, or maybe they got back together just a little too often for us to really miss them.

Of course, the all time champions of this phenomenon are The Who.
